PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari termed on Sunday the dismissal of a no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan "totally illegal" and said the Constitution did not allow the dissolution of assemblies at this stage.
Zardari was speaking to the media in parliament after a National Assembly session where Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri had dismissed the no-trust motion and ruled that it was against Article 5 of the Constitution.
In reply to a question on this development, Zardari said, "The court has sat down. Let's see what it says [on the matter]."
He added that "we are prepared for everything ... even for elections".
