A moody grinder the morning after Debbie wreaked havoc in Northern NSW. Plenty of people watching the action from the rocks as everyone was eager to leave their houses after days of pouring rain.
Every time you enter the ocean, you never know what to expect.. so all you can do is accept the conditions as they are, adapt and make the most of it.. kind of like life, right?
A while back someone asked me when or where I feel most playful.. this photograph I took captures my answer really well: "Definitely in the ocean, without a doubt. I feel like a kid in the ocean. I feel alive. I feel alert. Being in the ocean is like a slow-dance with a partner who is gentle and elegant but unforgiving. It's beautiful." -- even more so I feel more than blessed to be able to spend time in the water, mix my passions for photography, creativity, surfing and the ocean and if that is not enough already, share all of that with a larger audience that can resonate with what I captured or feel.. I'm so, so grateful for this and hope you enjoy this piece. It's one of my favorites.

Witnessing Nazaré on a solid day was more than humbling. Waves that were produced thousands of miles away marching through the ocean just to unload on the perfect setup Nazaré is. Around 10 guys surfed the wave that day.. freaky.
