Two days ago I turned 27 and yesterday marked 1 year since leaving South Africa for the UK. I’ve been out of my comfort zone for a solid 12 months and I’m still uncertain of where this path will take me. I’m no where near where I want to be as a photographer, but I've grown more as an individual in the last year than I did in the previous 5 years combined. I used to be so caught up in the things I don’t have, and the work I wasn’t doing, that I would paralyze myself with negative self talk. Always acting like a victim of life and not appreciating the gift that it is. I’m not sure what caused me to shift from that toxic mindset, but I’m so glad that I had the awareness to see how much harm it was doing. I’m making more progress now than ever before and it really comes down to this; choosing myself by prioritizing my mental and physical health, being grateful, being present and being patient. Opportunities will come, and when they do, I will be ready. Thank you for all the birthday wishes and a huge thank you to @stephbrucey who went out of her way to organize me a party, it was a real treat, she also took this photo. Here’s to another year of progress! 💪

This season, I’ve hugged strangers while celebrating goals, I’ve spoken to my dad halfway across the world after every game and I’ve shouted in public or at work after receiving a notification about a goal on my phone. That’s what it’s all about for me, moments of pure joy, creating memories, connecting with family, friends and even strangers. Today, we confirmed our place in the @efl Championship Playoffs, and whatever happens in the next few weeks, I couldn’t be more proud of my @fulhamfc. #ffc ⚽️❤️
