Memory is an odd thing, always bittersweet. I remember when we were children, when the storm came, we hid under beds and blankets. Swaddled up as if our blanket was an armour and the lightning an army. When the light of dawn trickled in, we burst out like floodgates had opened, into the streets, because the thunder may be frightening, but the puddles they left never were. Now we stare at the sky when the rain falls, the fear is still there somewhere, but it's overwhelmed by the fascination we have for it's magnanimity. So we stand, drenched, but unafraid.  But then when the clouds recede, we'll see a child crouched by a puddle, all grimy knees and hands, floating paper boat in a puddle with a giant smile on his face. It's in those moments you can't help but close your eyes and think, "Take me back, take me back." - - I am really thankful to @_mafazah_ for penning such a beautiful story for this picture.
