Happy Dim Sumday! For part 4 we’re going in a not-too-sweet direction and making Sesame Balls! These are typically filled with red bean paste or black sesame paste but I had a craving for chocolate so I made a black sesame dark chocolate filling (recipe below) instead. It’s heaven a few minutes out of the hot oil and the chocolate is still a little melty. As always, let me know what you want to see next on Dim Sumday! Full recipe for the sesame balls (with red bean filling) is in my cookbook, Mooncakes and Milk Bread. Dark chocolate black sesame ganache: In a heat proof bowl, combine 4oz dark chocolate chips, 2 tbsp black sesame paste, and a pinch of salt. Warm up 1/2 cup of milk until just about to simmer. Immediately pour over the chocolate and let the chocolate sit for a few minutes. Whisk until ganache is very smooth. Cover the bowl and set I. The fridge until firm but scoopable, at least 1 hours. Portion the ganache into 1 tbsp balls. Place on a parchment lined tray or plate and freeze for 15 minutes before assembling the sesame balls. #dimsum #dimsumday #chinesefood #asianfood #cookingvideo #recipevideo #mooncakesandmilkbread #sesameballs #blacksesame
