within four months, we get to celebrate my parent's anniversary, all four of our birthdays, mother's day, and father's day. i get to remind myself of how blessed i am to have the family that i do. thank you both for setting a beautiful example of faithfulness and showing me love and showing me how to love a spouse well.

2 of 3 yesterday and today ive been trying to meditate on philippians 2: "do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” ‭‭ paul, the author, goes on to talk about Jesus; even though he was God, he didnt count his divinity as something that made him better than anyone else. when Jesus was on earth, he did not compare his greatness to our imperfection. i want to cut comparisons from my life. no matter how great we are, our greatness is nowhere near Godliness, so let us not boast in anything of ourselves, but take interest in those around us and live in humility.
1 of 3 sophie and alex slept on the top of point reyes. it was noisy and cold and windy and wet. i was with them all night but my sleeping bag was not up for the challenge so i didnt really sleep much.
