The #bloomtruebootcamp prompt today was #letgo and I'm letting go of so much. Letting go of a few supplies that no longer feel yummy to use to make room for others that do. Let go of trying not to get messy (which resulted in knocking over a bottle of ink, which was REALLY messy). Letting of of my critical voice with a big fat pen and then painting it all over. Letting go of needing to know where this is all going before I get there. All in the pursuit of letting go the deep-rooted belief that I can't be a real artist and a mom, too.

  • kimberlyreedI struggle with *thinking* I can't be an artist AND a mom. I rarely mix the two. which makes my life feel like I'm living separate lives.
  • donabIsn't it kind of bizarre, @kimberlyreed ? There is that image of the neglectful or unstable artist-mom that is so pervasive. And yet I know (personally!) so many talented artists who are also loving and engaged mothers. But I still can't shake the fear I have around it.
