frozenroyaltynhlOn July 22, the @NHL and @NHLonNBCSports released the national television schedule for the NHL's 2014-15 regular season. The schedule Western Conference teams 56 times and has 35 "West-Friendly" games.
What does "West-Friendly" mean, and why is having 35 of those games important? Well, it wasn't all that long ago when there were virtually no West-friendly games on the national TV schedule, but that trend began to change a few years ago.
How bad was it? How as the TV schedule changed in recent years? Will the improvements last? For some comments and analysis, read "Western NHL Fans No Longer Out In The Cold When It Comes To National TV Coverage," and a lot more on the @LAKings and the NHL on http://frozenroyalty.net.

- vsinjusticeThat's good. I remember watching games on KTLA and KCAL oh so many years ago. Then, after that half (?) season lockout in the late 90s, if memory serves me right, I rarely, if ever, watched a game on "regular" tv. It all went to cable, which I didn't have at the time.
