Built as the art gallery for the 1876 Centennial, Memorial Hall is a Beaux-Arts style building located in Fairmount Park. Designed by Herman J Schwarzmann, the building was one of the earliest examples of monumental Beaux-Arts architecture in the US. It subsequently became the home for the Pennsylvania Museum of Art (now the Philadelphia Museum of Art), and the Pennsylvania Museum School of Industrial Art (now University of the Arts). Today the Hall serves as the home for the Please Touch Museum. …………………………………………….… Photo by Guest Instagrammer @aengle215 ……………………………………………… #visitphilly #phillyarchitecture #architecture #phillygram #igers_philly #vscocam #vsco_spotlight #bestofvsco
