rfmoazzemIf we go through the annals of world history we see that a few statesmen have significantly altered the course of history, a fewer could modify the map of the world, hardly anyone can be credited with the creation of a nation. But Bangabandu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman of Bangladesh managed to do all the three.
Bangabandu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (1920-1975) was the founding leader of the People's Republic Of Bangladesh. He was the founding Father of our nation.
Bangladesh achieved the independence through armed struggle in 1971. We the Bengalis experienced widespread sufferings and sacrificed a lot to achieve the independence. And Sheikh Mujibur played a huge role in that.
Bangabundu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman delivered a historical speech on march 7th 1971 at the racecourse maydan. In his speech, he, pointing to the glorious background of the political history of the Bengalis, gave a detail account of the oppression misrule and awful deprivation of the Bengalis by the West Pakistani Government, and unveiled the dirty game played by them to deceive the innocent and clueless people of Bangladesh.
The speech by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is a historic evidence for the Bengalis. The Bengalis got the inspiration for being united and the indication for joining the liberation war from the speech of march 7th. Only one target was fixed before them from then onwards, and it was freedom.
If it hadn't been for Bangabandu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his historical and emotional speech we would to this day be the victims of oppression and torture. we are forever in his debt. THANK YOU!!!!
