jdfunksLegit. I came back for dinner after walking up and down the Saturday night market and there were so many more options.... #chiangmai #kinjay #vegan travel #nineemperorgodsfestival #hiatushiatus #streetfood
- kippysnacksHow did you find CM compared to BKK? I didn't find as many festival participants there but still some good food. Did anything stand out there that you didn't find in the capital?
- jdfunks@kippysnacks kipp! Are you making me write all this my phone?? 😊 What is the basis of this inquiry? I was only in Bangkok a 2-3 days for fest stuff and it was more happening and widespread but I was in chiang mai purposely and adore it, so my thoughts are skewed by that. I loved this one night market, in particular, and a steamed bun pop up I couldn't get enough of, but I'm sure bangkok had a bajillion more offerings all over I didn't see...or Phuket, of course! There were a few "home bases" of the festival on temple grounds and market takeovers, but there's already so much veg food anyway that I didn't notice restaurants having special menus, but stands did. Oh, and the chiang mai veg society hall closed this past year, which is sad. I may share my photos for mofo, maaaaybe. I hope that helps even though it was such a poor response on my end and you've probably experienced way more Nine Emperor Gods Fest than me!
- kippysnacksAahahaha that was mean of me to ask! Thank you! Just trying to decide where to spend my time this year! I love CM too but thinking of risking some new places for fest (but will prob end up mostly in BKK) DECISIONS.
- jdfunks@kippysnacks 💕💕💕! Jealous!! I also went to pai (again) and their fest happenings were tiny but the hall/buffet I went to was packed with school kids and adorable...you know, perspective! We were in Bangkok on the big, final night but exhausted and ended up eating italian near our hostel, ha! I also came across fab vegan croissants at a bakery near terminal 21 in Bangkok!
