Cafe Gavroche has a new wine flights menu (10 variations, $16-$48) and we love how approachable it is. Each flight is made up of three to five wines with portions that are a little more than tastings. All wines are from France and of bottles that are $100 and below (for if you want to buy retail home, and yes, includes champagnes). We tried the "Flying Blind" menu (five wines, $32), and was taken by how easy to drink all of them were. What stood out were the unusual Riesling that had notes of ketchup(!) - middle, and the complex but not harsh Pinot Noir - second from right. The wines change regularly of course, so this flight remains blind 😉
