This is the end. Or rather, this is an end. When I started this project a little over three months ago, my plan was to take a hundred pictures of numbers in the streets of San Francisco and post them online, one a day. It was never intended to be a long term thing, just a 100 days experiment on which I would be able to look back and say: “remember the time I took photos of 100 numbers?” I did not expect to get such a following, and I am humbled by the thousands fans who have liked and commented my photos on Facebook and Instagram. There is a certain beauty in the ephemerality of the process, sharing a slice of your collective mornings and then disappearing. I can't thank you enough for this.

I have been asked – and so far have eluded – several times why I chose to take pictures of numbers and I feel that I owe you at least part of an explanation. For a long time I have been fascinated by the locus of Art and the relation between object and observer. I shall just say this: Numbers of San Francisco has been an experiment in making Art in exposing the audience to pure quantity, both as method and subject.

Once again, I thank you for joining me on this journey. Keep an eye open, I might have more things to recount in the coming weeks…
