So much to celebrate. Malala’s 16th birthday and her powerful appearance at the UN. She would not let a bullet from the Taliban stop her mission – education for every child. We ask her to make a wish, we hope it comes true. #MalalaDay

  • katieleighhuttIn love with her! Seriously the best interview I've seen! #Change happens from small quiet and unexpected places....@Malalafund is the perfect vessel of that!
  • _ethanq_Hey Diane seriously respond to this and it will be awesome. Just say hello!!
  • regan_sorsaMalala is my BIGGEST idol! And you're totally right! @born2dazzle She not only inspired me to express my voice and not be afraid to, she inspired me to love education more than I did before. Can you imagine living in a world like she had to live in, with a sexist government overruled by terrorists? But I also learned from the book that the Taliban were scared of Malala, they're afraid of girls who are smart and brave, like Malala, who is BEYOND those words. And Malala is right, books and pens ARE our greatest weapons! By the way @dianesawyer and @born2dazzle did you guys read her book? I did
  • regan_sorsaShe's totally right because education = knowledge and knowledge = power, capability, strength. The more knowledge you have the more you can be capable of if you just use it or take advantage of it, like Malala did. This is one of the biggest reasons why women and girls in countries like Pakistan are being abused and maybe even treated like slaves or objects and why they live in fear. I can talk about Malala all day if I wanted.
  • regan_sorsaWhat date is her birthday again? Isn't it July something?
  • samandjamI love how you can pretend that you care about this girl or any other that is different from you. You are supposed to be informed and unbiased in the information that you report. This picture is for ratings and nothing else. I can't believe the lies that you spread about people you don't care to know about. Because the people of Gaza are not rich and don't have any political power people like you act like they are mere insects there to stomp on. No matter who you are you should realize that this is a issue of humanity. Do your job and be informed not just primp in a makeup chair for three hours and read what someone wrote for you. Are you a journalist or a puppet. Israel has 0 fatalities while the people of Gaza are burying their children everyday women like you are the reason why men rule the world @dianesawyer
