Bit of a delay in posting this. Recovering from the recent Inverness Whisky Festival has taken a while! Here we are appreciating the colour and legs of a Tullibardine 228 Burgundy finished Highland Single Malt - before going on to check out it's aroma and taste :-) In the Castle Tavern, at the start of a wonderful night being guided around the bars of Inverness by the charming and talented Bruce MacGregor whilst being introduced to some very special drams and music. Ended, eventually, with a ceilidh in Hootenanny's. If you like a dram and missed this event - there is always next year or, the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival starting next week.

  • steveprenticeGreat picture, and sounds like you had a great time! I'll be up in Inverness in Oct, what bar would you recommend for a good dram? :) Same question to @tomatin1897 :)
  • e11even75@shiv666 mmmmmmm
  • visitscotland@steveprentice Hi Steve - hope you have a great time in 'Snekie' when you come up. Hard to recommend particular bar. It's not such a large place - you could / should try out as many as you come across. Bruce's tour took us from the Castle Tavern to The Gellions then to Blackfriars then to The Market Bar (upstairs) before ending up at Hoots

  • steveprenticeOk thank mate, I'll look out for them. Had a fab time in Hoots when last up, and Black Isle on tap too, awesome. :)
  • georgedoTry loch tummel inn folks ... Superb and Orkney Northern Lights is current ale :))))
  • tomatinwhisky@steveprentice Just seen this! Hoots, obviously, Castle Tavern has a great atmosphere, believe blackfriars is cool too. Something a bit nore commercial but good range of drams is The Exchange. Heathmount & Corriegarth in the Crown area also good choice, and if it's a nice day the Clachnaharry Inn has stunning views of the Beauly Firth, or Fiddlers in Drumnadrochit or the Dores Inn for some Loch Ness action. Too many to mention!
  • steveprentice@tomatin1897 Cheers ears. :) Can't wait to be back up!
  • 75smurfy@visitscotland cheers 😄
  • ginabang@oregonjhawk we gotta do this one year
