mattslabyDog in snow, Christmas Eve at my parent's. In two weeks his cancer has nearly doubled in size. It hangs off his haunch like a softball. The tumor has burst open and looks like the maw of a filthy worm, oozing, necrotic, and disorganized. Somehow, the dog isn't outwardly bothered. Yet. He still eats (I snuck him food all night), he still chases balls, and he took some time as I left to make a dog-shaped snow angel in the headlights of my truck. Realistically, it's probably not a matter of months or weeks anymore. This old dog has a few days of quality left before the inevitable visit from my dad's friend, veterinarian Jack, who has offered to bring the drugs out to euthanize him in the wood shop where he has lived for the last decade.
- an_dickinsonSo sorry to hear that, matt. I love and respect this kind of personal documentation - it's so important.
- andrewpatrickalfaroWhen our dog had a tumor we switched him to raw food diet and the thing disappeared in a few weeks. Lots of raw beef liver
