Parents, grandparents and siblings of children heading to Primary 1 in 2024 and even 2025 were excited to explore the Yew Tee Primary School environment to have a sense of the larger education landscape. They spent the morning with students, teachers, senior educators, Admin team and school leaders. Having a lesson walkthrough of a Primary 1 / 2 classroom was fun especially when our little ones were curious to check out the guests in class. As our visitors walked around YTPS, we were happy to answer questions about entering the formal education system at Primary 1. We are particularly proud of our upper primary students as we see them speaking to adults with so much confidence and maturity. When we open up, we create opportunities for our students to apply their social skills in a safe environment. It was such a pleasure doing this for the Choa Chu Kang community that we are considering doing this more often. We answered many questions about the Singapore education system which got us thinking that the next time, we should make it into an opportunity for our students to talk about their learning experiences and take questions. That would be a meaningful way for parents new to the primary school sector to hear from the learners themselves.
