Exploring Identity Part 3 Collage Self-Portrait Workshop Conducted by Artist and Teacher Ji Eun Lim Ji Eun Lim, Untitled, 2022, Acrylic on canvas, 20” X 20” The Points Art Club PART 2: Wednesday, March 29, 6-8 pm How does making self-portraits reflect one's self-esteem? How does making self-portraits play a role in seeking personal identity? How can artworks by artists of different backgrounds express identity? Part 1 of this series, UPSIDE DOWN SELF PORTRAITS, took place last week, March 22. Like collage, the upside down exercise dislodges our tendency to "seek likeness" through verbal recogniton of eyes and noses and ears, but to recognize the interlocking of shapes, lights and darks, to find likeness through an artist's path. The Arts Club has been an institution at THE POINT for many years. It has taken many forms. Most recently we have fallen on this idea of members of the club leading the group on a rotating basis. We have stumbled on a formula that calls attention to our participants in a particular way. We get to know each leader's work in this intimate form of sharing. @jieunjieunlim @careyclark.clark Contact: Carey Clark cclark@thepoint.org 917.822.4853 @careyclark.clark Location: THE POINT 940 Garrison Avenue, Bronx, NY 10474 [ Entrance on Manida Street.
