Announcement - ChuMinh Tofu is partnering with Asian Counseling and Referral Services (ACRS), Massage Parlor Outreach Project (MPOP) and other community groups for a campaign called CID: Safety Not Sweeps. No matter our differences, all of us want to ensure our families and communities are safe. In light of worsening conditions for people in our neighborhood, we request Seattle officials to stop targeting our neighborhood with encampment sweeps. People lose their identification, their medications, and their whole lives are disrupted. Sweeps actively make everyone in the neighborhood less safe because they worsen the conditions that lead to isolation, harm, and violence. No one wants to find themselves in this situation, but right now people aren’t provided with enough housing or treatment services to help them on a path to stability and recovery. The CID and Little Saigon can be a better place for us all.
