“Ruth Asawa: A Retrospective” is currently on view @themuseumofmodernart through February 7th @ruthasawaofficial. Diane Arbus’s “Sanctum Sanctorum” settles at @davidzwirner Grafton Street gallery. The forty-five images were taken between 1961 and 1971 in spaces across London, New York, New Jersey, and California. The prints draw visitors into intimate scenes: impersonators, debutantes, and lovers all occupying their compositions.

Sanctum Sanctorum follows two recent major exhibitions of the artist’s work: Cataclysm: The 1972 Diane Arbus Retrospective Revisited, at David Zwirner New York (2022) and Los Angeles (2025); and Diane Arbus: Constellation, at LUMA Arles (2023–2024) and the Park Avenue Armory, New York (2025).

On view through December 20th, 2025, before it moves on to @fraenkelgallery, San Francisco, in spring 2026. The exhibition is accompanied by a monograph jointly published by both galleries.

@wolfgang_tillmans Build From Here marks twenty years since his ongoing Truth Study Centre began — first shown at @maureenpaley in 2005. Now, the project returns home across three East London sites: 4 Herald Street, 60 Three Colts Lane, and Studio M at Boundary Estate.

The exhibition unfolds as a meditation on process and place, blurring the boundary between studio and gallery. Photocopied works line the walls, inviting viewers to step close, while films like Travelling Camera (2025) and Wild Carrot (2025) probe the camera’s dual life as both a tool and a subject.

At Herald Street, wooden shadowboxes collage media, text, and imagery into tactile compositions that fold the outside world into the work. Each location carries its own pulse — the same materials seen differently through shifts in light, sound, and movement.

#AndraUrsuţa presented her first solo show at @DavidZwirner in New York, 'Retina Turner' comprising sixteen monumental, egg-shaped slabs of cast glass. Each work contains spectral presences or 'Private Dancers', human-machine hybrids who glide or dissolve beneath crystalline surfaces. #Ursuţa’s sculptures are an epilogue to Lucio Fontana’s 'La Fine di Dio' paintings— the end of The End of God. In the 1960s, #Fontana punctured egg-shaped canvases to open painting up to infinity. Here, the artist retains the cosmic oval but inverts its meaning: where Fontana sought expansion, she shows implosion. Her panels are sealed worlds, staging a vision at the edge of exhaustion.

@ChloeWise_'s exhibition 'Myth Information' just closed at @AlmineRech in Tribeca. The subjects in her paintings glance upward and appear to question all that is known beyond the confines of image, time, and space. In the press release, writer #GideonJacobs muses: "Like a good horror movie, Wise doesn’t depict what her subjects see. Instead, she plays with trope and genre, beauty and brushstroke, bringing a retropop grammar to the divine and sublime—hobbyhorse themes of the Renaissance, the Baroque, and, really, art since the caves. It's Spielberg attempting Caravaggio in the Scooby Doo cinematic universe."

@MarianGoodmanGallery New York just presented an exhibition by #GabrielOrozco featuring paintings and works on paper created in Paris and Mexico City. Having played and improvised on the piano for many years, #Orozco compares his musical practice to drawing in time and space using sound and acoustics, rhythms and tempos. For this new body of works, he explored the translation of these musical scores into his distinctive geometric language and color palette in the two-dimensional realm.

In a separate gallery space, the artist also showed 'Color Travels Through Flowers' (1998) an installation of stained papers that transforms artificial flower dyes into explosions of color. Despite its organic character, the imprints on the surface come from an artificial flower production workshop in France.

The @royalacademyarts spotlights Kerry James Marshall in The Histories. The exhibition brings together over five decades of work, tracing Marshall’s pursuit to centre the Black experience within the narrative of Western art and challenge the traditionions of these practises.

From early pieces inspired by his mentor Charles White to monumental canvases chronicling the Civil Rights era, the exhibition reveals Marshall’s technical mastery and political precision. Using techniques that recall the Renaissance and Baroque — from egg tempera to multi-figure compositions — he reimagines classical form through a distinctly contemporary lens.

In works depicting barbershops, beauty salons, and urban parks, Marshall transforms the everyday. His portraits of historiocal figures — poets, rebels, and the unnamed — recover those erased from art history, expanding the canon with unapologetic vitality.

In collaboration with the Kunsthaus, Zurich and the Musée d’Art Moderne, Paris, the Royal Academy offers its audiences a rare opportunity to experience the full scope of Marshall’s vision.

On view at the Royal Academy of Arts, Burlington House, through January 2026.
