🦖Marine Iguana Dive Tips🦖⬇️

The Galapagos Islands is the ONLY place in the world where you can find marine iguanas! They can hold their breath for up to 30mins to feast on algae🌱 Diving with these mini “Godzillas” needs to be on your bucket list, so here are some tips from my recent dive ensure you have the best time:

🥶 Water Temp: 11°c
🤿 Minimum 7mm wetsuit
⚖️ Add extra weights for this dive as it’s shallow!
🧤Dive gloves are mandatory for warmth & holding onto rocks!
💦 The dive depth is anything between 3m - 5m MAX
🪝A dive pointer (critter stick) is useful to help you balance on the rocks

🇲🇺 MAURITIUS
• Water temp: Average 25°C / 77°F
• What to see: Large pelagics, nudibranch, dolphins & incredible wrecks!
• Scuba dive level: Beginner to advanced OW

🇲🇻 MALDIVES
• Water Temp: 28–29°C / 82–84°F
• What to see: Manta Rays, whale sharks, baby reef sharks & Tiger sharks in Fuvahmulah!
• Scuba dive level: Perfect for snorkelers, beginner to advanced OW divers

🇵🇭 ANILAO, PHILIPPINES
•Water temp: ~26–28°C / 79–82°F
• What to see: Muck diving with some of the worlds weirdest & rarest marine life — bobitt worm, mimic octopus, hairy frogfish, alien like nudibranchs, rhinopias, blue-ring octopus - DO NOT PASS ON DOING A NIGHT DIVE! That’s when the really crazy stuff come out to play!
•Scuba Dive Level: All - Beginner to Advanced OW

🇵🇭 APO ISLAND - PHILIPPINES (Dauin, Dumaguete)

•Water temp: ~27–29°C / 80–84°F
• What to see: Sea turtles & sea snakes everywhere!! Colorful anemones, clown fish
•Scuba dive level: All levels - beginner to advanced OW

🇮🇩RAJA AMPAT, INDONESIA – peak season for biodiversity, making it the best time to visit

• Water temp: An amazing 28 –29°C / 82–86°F (although I still dive in a 5mm)
•What to see: Walking & wobbegong sharks, some of the most colour corals you’ve ever seen, pygymy seahorse, mantas
• Scuba dive level: Intermediate to advanced OW divers - Beginner open water level divers can still enjoy Raja, however, some of the best dive sites are beyond 18metres

First time in Oman and it was paradise! 🇴🇲✨I spent 5 days slowing down, doing absolutely nothing but lazing on the 41°c beach 🏝️💛 It’s been a tough year so it was exactly what I needed!

One morning I did finally peel myself off the sunbed for a snorkel and… WOW. One of the best turtle encounters of my 21 years of diving! 🐢💦 He swam right up to my face, had a little look, then tried to take a bite of my @goprouk — and of course it froze, so no footage at all 😫

Then there was the turtle the lifeguard brought in on a paddle board after we found him floating lifeless 😢💔 Watch him perk up once the marine biologist arrived in the video 💚

I’ll definitely be back. If you’ve been to Oman, what are your favourite things to do or places to visit? I’ve heard the scuba diving is on another level! 🌊🤿

TIPS:
🍒 Bring snacks & drinks with you! Tufting is thirsty work
🐠 Send in a photo of what you would like to make, at least 48hrs before hand & keep it simple, block colours work best.
