olympiavalanceWhat a special night that was.
@jarrydbyrne, thank you for helping tell and share a story that was, and still is, so incredibly personal to me.
Thank you for helping show a side of me that I normally try to hide and protect.
Thank you for the ridiculously long hours you invest every week, always making sure that when the time comes, I walk out on stage feeling strong and confident and ready to give it my all.
Thank you for your pep talks and words of encouragement before every performance.
I’ve said it before, maybe about 873 times, but I’m just completely in awe you. Your work ethic is like no other and the love and passion you hold for what you do is an inspiration. I am blessed to be around your positive energy day in and day out.
I also need to thank
@paulmalek for helping us choreograph last night’s contemporary piece. You were a joy to work with and while I’m far from a natural born dancer, man do I bloody hope we can find a way to work together again!!
Jarryd and I worked really hard on this and I think sometimes we’re scared to congratulate and champion ourselves out of fear of how it may come across, but I couldn’t be prouder of what we achieved.
If I’ve learnt anything over the last five years, it’s that being vulnerable is actually one of our greatest superpowers and maybe my story will inspire someone else and remind them that the most beautiful thing about rock bottom is that you’re given the chance to start again ❤️🙏🏽
