New Zealand’s prime minister Jacinda Ardern has made history again by becoming the first female world leader to attend the United Nations general assembly meeting with her baby. Ardern brought her three-months-old daughter Neve Te Aroha with her to the UN on Monday, where she gave a speech at the Nelson Mandela peace summit. Her partner Clarke Gayford looked after the baby while she spoke. Ardern, who became the second world leader to give birth while in office and the first to take maternity leave in June, said “It was a very practical decision” to bring her daughter, who she is breastfeeding. “Neve is actually nearby me most of the time in New Zealand,” she told Newshub. Neve even got a UN ID with the title of “New Zealand First Baby” 🇳🇿👶⭐️ (📷: Getty, Reuters, @clarkegayford) - #jacindaardern #nevegayford #nevetearoha #unitednations #un #unga #clarkegayford #primeminister #pm #nzpm #woman #women #mom #mum #mother #parent #parents #maternityleave #child #children #girl #baby #babygirl #daughter #pregnancy #firstbaby #newzealand #nz #aotearoa #kiwi
