The leaders of Ethiopia and Eritrea attended a summit in Saudi Arabia on Sunday to sign a peace agreement after the two made a formal declaration of peace to end a 20-year standoff between the two countries and restore diplomatic in July. A border war between Ethiopia and Ertirea in 1998 left tens of thousands dead and made travel and cross-border phone calls between the two countries impossible. Tearful reunions have since been occurring across the two countries as the first flight from Ethiopia to Eritrea took place nine days after the peace declaration in July, phone lines were reopened and two key crossing points along the border were opened for the first time in two decades on Tuesday 🇪🇹🤝🇪🇷❤️ (📷: Getty) - #reunion #reunions #familyreunion #family #friend #friends #separation #border #airport #airports #flight #celebration #addisabba #zalambessa #ethiopia #ethiopean #asmarra #burre #assab #eritrea #eritrean #hornofafrica #africa #african #abiyahmed #isaiasafwerki #peace
