🏳️‍⚧️Dancing Queen: An ABBA Salute will always stand up for, stand behind, and embrace our transgender friends, family, fans, and audiences. Honoring the trans lives we’ve lost means protecting every trans life living. We should be as aware of the trans community’s resilience and joy as we are of their systemic setbacks.

Transgender Day of Remembrance asks us to reflect on the people in the Trans community who have suffered as they fought to express their truths. Whose lives were taken. Whose spirits shattered. We hold these individuals in our hearts and remember their bravery, beauty, and pain, we we honor their lives and remember their stories - while acknowledging that anti-trans legislation kills. It is a humanitarian crisis.

Today we memorialize victims of transphobic violence, and lift up the spirits and voices who need it most. This #TransgenderAwarenessWeek was created to help increase understanding about trans people and the issues members of the community face. Today is not only a time to remember those who have suffered, but a moment to (re)commit to preventing loss going forward. Transphobia is a societal, systemic problem. Which means it’s everyone’s - especially cisgender folks’ - responsibility to stop. Everyone who does not actively fight transphobia contributes to upholding it. There is so much we can be doing, this day and every day, to care for and support trans resilience, survival, and joy.

We hope you never give up. We believe in you. Thank you for being you. We LOVE you. And we will always sing and dance with you in joy 🏳️‍⚧️🫶🏼🏳️‍⚧️
