This quiet little corner right next to huge and impressive Shwezigon Pagoda in Bagan, Myanmar, spoke to me on many levels. Sometimes you can just be so drawn to a place without being able to explain why. I walked around the tree and then sat down in front of it for a while, feeling that my wish to stay just a bit longer had little to do with the heat. So yes, this felt like my happy place in many ways - but Shwezigon was also where I fell for a tourist scam minutes after, which left me feeling really stupid. But the solution was at hand: I simply returned to the happy tree for a bit! Not religious at all, but this place moved me. If you're more into finding out about the scam than possible epiphanies I might have had, I can't blame you. Read it up on the blog!
