17/100: Interior designer Lena Larsson was a pioneer for designing easy, family-friendly environments. Her chairs are perhaps the most well-known of her work outside of Sweden. If I owned this rocking chair (which yes, I forgot to add a crossbar to on the bottom section) I would cover it in a wool blanket, sit with a journal and a cup of coffee and write. My mother let me borrow a wonderful book by Larsson recently, a collection of her thoughts and musings on life, and various sketches and items collected through her life. There were even some papercuts. It was the kind of book that made me think "I wish I did all of this." To which I reminded myself "well, then do it." No one is going to give you some special permission to be an artist or a designer. You simply must make. So there's the lesson from day 17 of #the100dayproject. Oh, and I am now officially caught up! #100daysofscandinaviandesign #scandinaviandesign #swedish #designlife #papercut #papercutartist #scandinavianmodern #swedishdesign
