instituteartistLocated at 3,800 meters above sea level, #QuilotoaLagoon, is housed in the #crater formed by the violent eruptions of the volcano of the same name, located on the slopes of the river Toachi. The lagoon is about a half hour distance from the village of Apahua. The Quilotoa laguna is one of Ecuador’s most spectacular sites.
The #AndesMountains are the dominant topographic feature of #Ecuador and occupy the central third of the country from the northern to southern borders. Ecuador is one of seventeen megadiverse countries in the world according to Conservation International, and it has the most biodiversity per square kilometer of any nation.
