I feel incredibly grateful to @clemmie_telford for sharing my inner most ramblings about my ongoing battles with #anxiety and #ocd Writing 'White flag' was both painful, and refreshing. I realised I am no longer alone, and that to end the #mentalhealth #stigma we HAVE to try and talk. Or in my case, write. πŸ€“

NEW GUEST LIST: 'WAVING A WHITE FLAG TO OCD'. It seems to me that mental health nearly always effects the people you least expect. @mrshhayward is the perfect example. She is fun, fashionable and out-going, but beneath the banter and balayage she is battling more than a few demons. Here she talks bravely about reaching the bottom and finally seeking help. Link is in the my profile. πŸ’•πŸ’«πŸ’•

  • mumsofwandsworth@mrshhayward it's so good to share this. Well done for being brave & honest. It really is #goodtotalk and absolutely no apologies whatsoever. So sad to think that in 2017 people still feel stigma and shame. Good on you for writing about ALL aspects of motherhood with #nofilterparenting 😘 we're always here with a πŸ€— & πŸ‘‚& of course 🍷

  • keepingmummightyRead this post last week and thought it was so brave! It's so important to break the stigma and talk about this shit. It affects so many of us and yet we all feel like we are alone. It is so true that it often slaps us in the face when we think we're coping and suddenly realise we are not. Well done you for sharing your story. I'm sure it will help others xx
  • mrshhayward@keepingmummighty Thankyou ☺️☺️☺️ It is so strange how lonely we (I) can feel. Yet it seems to effect so so many people when I open the forum of chat?! Plus, I still feel like there is this shame that comes with admission. I'm hoping I guess by sharing it and yet seemingly on the surface I am super confident, that it resonates and others will feel comforted. It wasn't easy to write but I'm so glad I did xxx
  • keepingmummighty@mrshhayward I totally hear you. It was only 6-12 months after weaning myself off the pills I told my friends about what I'd been through and only launching my website and blog (v v recently) that I told my parents (and they still don't really understand)! It's such a brave thing to have done you should feel v proud. My mission is to ease the struggles of motherhood by sharing tips and tools for managing those challenging times - not just for the clinically diagnosed but the countless other mums out there who sometimes struggle with downward spirals or bouts of anxiety etc, it's also about raising awareness and breaking the stigma. Hope we can connect at some point. Xx
  • mrshhayward@keepingmummighty I think that sounds amazing. Let's definitely chat very soon. It just feels better having others talk about it with me too xxx
  • fairy_hill_craftsYou are not alone in this -- and knowing I was nt alone - made it just that easier to bear - my anxiety hates leaving the house - and likes to see if it can make me panic till I get chest pains.. it really is sooooooo thoughtful! Some days I m out - rocking the world.. others.. locking the front door and staying in.. and even the short walk to the shop fills me with terror.. of being *outside- with people*!! I ve travelled this Road up and down over the last 10 years.. your body has a way of just saying no more.. and this is it.. so I listen it. Xx
  • fairy_hill_craftsOh and I thought I had OCD in a form ( not house cleaning or anything good like that !) but knowing what's best for everyone - turns out I m just a bit of a stubborn arse and it's me not OCD! X
