80-year-old Joss Naylor – known locally as 'Iron Joss' for his ability to endure debilitating injuries and terrible storms – has indisputably become one of the greatest fell runners. In 1976, Naylor was awarded an MBE for services to fell running, but despite his success he was never temped to leave his beloved Lake District. “I’ve been lucky enough to spend all my life in the Lakes, and I’ve always had a pair of little legs that can climb and run. As long as I can I’ll carry on going out on the fells. It’s been my life.” Photography @laurapannack.
