Iiiiits #wallpaperwednesday - here's a close-up of my bathroom wall as snapped by @susielowephoto (swipe for a shot of the whole bathroom). As the rest of my bathroom is all @farrowandball Downpipe grey cupboards, shiny brass taps and white metro tiles, when it came to choosing wallpaper and this @osborneandlittle beauty sprung (swam?) out at me, I was concerned that going for grey and gold on my walls as well was a bit too obvious and matchy-matchy. So I tried samples of every colourful and crazy wall covering I could find. I tested bright pink flamingoes. I considered multi-hued florals. I even thought about neon thistles. I'm not a play-it-safe kind of girl when it comes to interiors (as you may have guessed), and these Koi Carp, gorgeous as they were, felt like the safe option. But for some reason I kept coming back to them; none of the other options worked as well. Now the gold fish have been happily swimming around my bathroom for the past couple of years (for anyone wondering - the paper hasn't been damaged by the damp at all) I think I know why they work so well: because the bathroom is SO tiny, and because there are so many different textures, patterns and surfaces, adding a whole load of extra colour to the mix would just have been too much. This wallpaper does the job of adding a dash of character and life to the otherwise-tiled space, and one of my fave things to do is lie in the bath under my sit down shower (TM The Pink House) and watch the pretty fish swimming around my head. This is especially effective after 2.5 large glasses of wine 🍷🐠🍷. #somethingfishy

  • livlovelaugh75Gorgeous! How do lesser mortals (ie not trade peeps) buy from @osborneandlittle ? So much pretty stuff, so out of reach! @pinkhouseliving
  • pinkhouseliving@alexcrabtreepr aw thanks! X
  • pinkhouseliving@hildabydesign ah yes - my bathroom pops up on Pinterest all the time - but often without any connection to my blog where it came from 😤. Would be amazing if you or anyone who has my bathroom pinned could link it back to my blog if poss. 😘
  • pinkhouseliving@odcdoorglass I think we should request one from the IPTB (Insta Powers That Be) 🐠👊🏻
  • pinkhouseliving@victoriablumcalligraphy yep - it just takes a few Instagrammers/bloggers to steal my bathroom pic without crediting me and @susielowephoto and it gets detached from its original source. If you were able to repin it from my site that would be totally amazing 😘
  • pinkhouseliving@livlovelaugh75 sadly I don't know - I bought it as a mortal and paid full price - was totally worth it though! 🐠💛
  • victoriablumcalligraphy@pinkhouseliving done! Other one deleted x
  • pinkhouseliving@victoriablumcalligraphy that's so lovely of you. Thanks so much x
  • hildabydesign@pinkhouseliving Ah, Jeez. This drives me nuts so I can't imagine how it feels when it's your own house/image...etc. I'll see if I can find it again...
  • hildabydesignWell, @pinkhouseliving I found it again & it was on Domino Magazine so hopefully you A. Already know about it or B. I've just given you some good news xx You seem to be credited also. It's not fully visible on my phone.
  • hildabydesignLast message: just sent it to you via Pinterest @pinkhouseliving x
  • pinkhouseliving@hildabydesign yes I can see they mention @susielowephoto as the photographer but on my phone they don't seem to mention The Pink House but it might show up on my laptop...thanks so much for the heads up - I didn't know my bathroom was featured by Domino! X
  • hildabydesign@pinkhouseliving You must be seeing the same as me - hoped that the rest of the sentence mentions you! Yay! Delighted that I was the bearer of good news! Congrats!
  • susielowephotoHuh! Who knew?! @pinkhouseliving @hildabydesign 💖
  • thornandthimble🔥
  • likewildfoxesCan I ask how long you've had the wallpaper up in your bathroom? Just wondered how it might be faring in a potentially damp environment!
  • pinkhouseliving@likewildfoxes more than two years. And no - not damaged at all!
  • skenyon00@pinkhouseliving aah but does your husband turn the bathroom into a sauna once a week for his languid, candle-lit "thinking bath"? I'm not sure wallpaper would cope in our house, sadly
  • pinkhouseliving@skenyon00 😂😂luckily I'm spared such a scenario - I can see why such a sauna sitch might not be ideal for wallpaper...😅
  • hollypotterdesignLove this scheme and grey/white & gold is one of my favourite colour combos! Gorgeous room, great job @pinkhouseliving 💖
