Corn Shocks
In Magdalena de Araceo, Mexico, corn shocks are formed with a stalk-and-leaf matting called rastrojo to protect the corn inside from rain and pests. When dried, the corn is ground for tortillas. The rastrojo is fed to hogs and cattle.
