Tonight, the TC City Comission will discuss the adoption of a policy regarding the use of in-street signage informing drivers to "STOP" or "YIELD" to pedestrians in crosswalks.
While the proposed policy is far from perfect (i.e. only allows for signs on 25 mph or slower streets, only allows for signs at marked crosswalks, signs only posted 4/15 - 11/15), it is a step in the right direction toward educating TC residents and visitors of our local law which calls for motorists to stop and yield the right of way to every pedestrian within a marked crosswalk.

Norte! strongly supports the use of in-street signage to inform motorists of their responsibility to STOP for pedestrians. If you agree, please consider an email to your City Commissioners and City Manager before their meeting tonight: CityCommissioners@traversecitymi.gov, mcolburn@traversecitymi.gov 📸 The talented @glh.image
