Howdy pioneered this concept in the early 90s & has devoted his career to using biofortification to end "hidden hunger,” a lack of vitamins & minerals in the diet. Hidden hunger affects billions of people globally each year & accounts for 50% of all mortality in developing countries.
But there’s good news - biofortification can improve health significantly, & is now reaching more than 15M smallholder farming families in low-income countries.
