thesheepinwolvesclothingVanilla dark chocolate snaps with flaked almond and white chocolate (variation on an old recipe on my blog; link in bio) for my last day in colorectal today! Actually, I tried making brownies last night, but they ended up being a bit of a disaster. As a result, I was a bit pessimistic; but my team actually really enjoyed these, more than I reckon they would've liked brownies. This rotation has felt a bit like that; I started off without any surgical knowledge, and at times felt really inadequate and stressed. But my team has been really encouraging and pushed me to strive for excellence, and the last two weeks have been tiring but fun.
Today I was really surprised by the positive feedback I've received from every member of the team, ranging from final year students to the consultant (like seriously, I couldn't even hold scissors properly at the start. And the mental maths for 24hr stoma output does my head in). Sometimes things go terribly, but perseverance pays off!
The surgery in colorectal is varied and involved, and I also enjoyed my OPD learning and tutes in other gen surg specialties; I've always thought I'd be a physician, but now I'm considering surg as a specialty! #blessed #captiongametoostrong #colorectal #gensurg #surgery #chocolate #medlyf
- the_little_haYour 24 HR stoma output calculations were 👌, would never second guess! You were awesome, keep it up. Would have you as a student/intern again anytime!!
