baritesslerSaturday morning reading. This book is the exact next book that I was looking for on my reading trail. A Fifty-Year Silence by Miranda Richmond Mouillot. I love the writing and storytelling. It's a memoir about her grandparents story of surviving the Holocaust, meeting in France, having kids, then separating to move to Geneva and Israel and the States. It's about love, loss, grief, memories and trying to understand the past. And it's about a house in France that her grandparents bought together but never lived in that the author visits and feels hold the memories of her grandparents story. This type of memoir begs me to understand more of my own grandparents escape from Russia (which is the Ukraine now). It's touching me on a deep, deep level and satisfying my desire to understand the human experience and my lineage. P.S. I needed a bookmark late last night as I was reading in bed and grabbed a random card from the Uno deck. I have a thing for "3's" but that story is for another day. #lineage #memoir #memoirs #book #booklover #booknerd #familyhistory #storytelling #saturdaymorning #afiftyyearsilence #mirandarichmondmouillot #reading #bookreader #ukraine #poland #morningcoffee #mocha #france
