thisgoodlifeblogI WILL NOT HOLD MY BREATH.
I do not hold my breath for fulfilling my desires only after I'm done caring for my kids. I do not hold my breath for a happiness, deferred --put on some back burner for some other day.
I hustle to meet my kids' needs and I fiercely protect margin in my life to take care of myself. This means gym trips when I don't always feel like it. Waking up early to read and listen for the birds. And painting too.
I'm crazy about my kids. I love them so very much and I truly delight in spending every day with them, even the hard ones. But before all my devotion to them comes taking care of me and attending to my #1 love- Paul 😘
We can all so easily make excuses. "I don't have the money / the time / the hobbies / the freedom / the room." I can assure you that you have SOMETHING. In fact, you likely have some resource available to you RIGHT NOW that someone else would kill to have. It might be a bigger backyard, dinners every night with your spouse, or a little bit more padding in your bank account.
PLEASE, MOMMIES. Do not put YOU on hold. (Mothers of teeny tinies, I get it...you do you.) Your kids want to see you happy and healthy. They want to see you be you. I'm so grateful I saw my mom read and hike and go antiquing and dance with us on the kitchen floor! I loved her so much in those moments. 💗
Happy Friday! Love to all of you! 💗
