kcccanadaAffection of Otherness: Works by 3 Canadian Artists Who Undertook Residency in Korea
The international Artist-In-Residency (AIR) program is considered to be one of the best opportunities for artists to engage in international cultural exchanges. The program not only gives professional artists from around the world a chance to meet and work together in a single location, it also allows those artists to give back to the community by leaving behind a legacy of the work they will create together! The AIR program helps artists open their minds to new experiences and embrace differences in cultural and other forms of identity. By engaging and inspiring one another, artists in residence become leaders of positive change as they foster dialogue and mutual understanding between countries.
This exhibition presents the works and experiences of three Canadian artists who found inspiration in the artistic and cultural richness of South Korea, where they recently completed their residency. These featured artists are June Pak, Pavitra Wickramasinghe and Brendan Fernandes.
