Sowerby's 'English Botany' of 1790-1834 was first issued in magazine parts. It is a monumental work here bound in 18 volumes in handsome black morocco leather including a magnificent total of 2592 handcoloured engraved plates.

It is celebrated as one of the most important British floras - in fact many of the plants received formal published description for the first time in this work.
