My first concert was The Rolling Stones in 1994. I was 16, was only familiar with one of their songs and wasn't thrilled to be going. My mom and stepdad said I could bring 2 friends which made it seem tolerable. Thinking back, it wasn't the music that made it special, it was memories being made, and my parents trying to give us new experiences. I may not have been grateful then but it's all I am now.
In a few hours we'll be a few specks among tens of thousands of people watching/listening to Eric Church do his thing. She's been looking forward to this night for months. I'm not a hardcore country music fan but I am a fan of seeing her face light up and sharing this experience with my people.

  • shrekfam5Exactly why I'm heading to Metallica this summer... can't resist the chance to see my boy experience his first concert... Have so much fun soaking up her excitement.
  • melissaweicker@shrekfam5 I plan on it, thank you! Her Dad took her to her first concert last November, she declared it as the best day ever! I can't miss another one. Metallica should be a loud, crazy time! 😜
