dannyghitisSpeaking of amazing women and refugees.... "I was involved in social work for the elderly, and women and kids; for their lives, education and gender equality. Officials started giving me a lot of pressure, harassment and resistance. Pakistan is a great country, but there are some officials who take advantage of their power and authority. When I saw that I could not survive in my country and I could not continue my work as a social activist and a doctor, I left. I regret that I couldn’t take my son because he did not have a visa." Reena Mohammad, 57, is a doctor and social activist from Pakistan who fled to the US because of harassment from government officials and abuse by her ex-husband. She was granted asylum in 2015.
Posting to @storyhunter this week from an interactive video and photo package shot for #cnncourageous about asylum seekers.
