The early days. Although the Stewardship was officially established as a 501c3 non-profit in 2003, we've been working hard to create a recreation-based economy in the Lost Sierra since the early 1990s (this photo from #yubaexpeditions humble beginnings). Through the ups and downs, #santacruzbicycles has been with us since the start. The Stewardship, Yuba Expeditions and the Downieville Classic would not exist today without the unwavering support of Santa Cruz. They are family, part of our Tribe, and we couldn't be more proud and thankful.
Even though only one person on earth (anyone, anywhere can win) will take home a $10,000 Santa Cruz of their choice in this year's 5 Bucks a Foot, if you love riding Downieville and the #lostsierra, consider a Santa Cruz bike when making your next purchase. By supporting companies that support non-profit endeavors for the good of the community, we can keep the mission of a sustainable, recreation-based economy in the Lost Sierra alive.
