Don't fear the carbs darling!

I used to avoid carbs like the plague. I would listen to all the bullsh*t media and people around me were feeding me about carbs being something to avoid at all costs, something bad for you and that would make you fat.

Little by little, I started challenging those thoughts and experimenting. What would actually happen to me if I were to eat proper balanced meals including plenty of carbs? What would happen if I nourished my body with the nutrients and energy it needs to sustain itself? Would I become overweight? Would I completely lose control of my eating? Would I be disgusting? If I were to believe media and the bullying words in my head, then supposedly that is what would happen. But in reality? Of course NONE of those things happened.

I eat carbs (and plenty of them) with every single meal, every single day. And guess what? I'm a so much stronger, happier, more energetic, more creative, and more confident thanks to it.

Damn, if we could just teach women and men that carbs are magical little unicorn sprinkles that will make you feel amazing. That these fundamental parts of your meal are what combat your tired, hangry, irritated, uninspired, unmotivated and all-round feeling crap self. And that carbs aren't some kind of poison, quite the opposite actually – you won't survive without them! Avoiding carbs is precisely why you are craving sugar/carbs/junk food – your brain is trying to save you!
