The hike up to the Sierra Negra volcano on Isla Isabela was a challenging, 5-hour ordeal 🌋The weather was hot (we were at the equator after all!) and the landscape changed from a steady incline along the trees to rugged rocks that you had to constantly climb up. It was definitely a workout for my legs! We also had to carry 3 litres of water with us to last us through the entire hike, and we literally sweat it all out. But the views were out of this world! 👌 It was like walking on the moon with colorful rocks all around you, lava tunnels still intact, and not a tree in sight except for a lonely cactus. It was one of those days where I really challenged myself physically, and there were times where I wanted to collapse on the ground, but I kept pushing myself and the reward was totally worth it! 👊
