Dr. Viola Acoff, associate dean for Undergraduate and Graduate Programs in the College of Engineering, introduced Dr. Mae C. Jemison, the first African-American woman to travel in space, at the 2017 WiSE Symposium held at Bryant Conference Center on March 4. Dr. Acoff and Dr. Luoheng Han (A&S) co-organized this year’s symposium for women in STEM. Dr. Jemison was the keynote speaker.
