colectivocoffeeOur coffee of the week is a #featuredfarmseries coffee from the TOARCO mill in the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. It may not be as familiar to coffee drinkers as Sumatra or Java, but it certainly can compete on quality. The Tana Toraja region, famous for the distinct design of traditional buildings as well as intricate wood carvings, is home to the TOARCO mill, a Japanese-Indonesian joint venture started in 1976. TOARCO purchases wet parchment (mostly of the S795 cultivar) from small-scale farmers who produce at 1200-1800 meters and are certified as maintaining high standards for quality. In the cup, this Featured Farm coffee exhibits notes of red apple, caramel, lime, cantaloupe, and rhubarb accentuated by a bright, juicy acidity. Enjoy!
