The early morning wait in the cold, going home and coming back to wait even longer at Barnes & Noble, and then finally getting the book signed by @tigerwoods --which I'm donating to charity, thanks to @wesleybryangolf's idea/contribution/auction/donation--was totally worth it, more than I expected. Ha.
But I was super surprised TW recognized me and greeted me with big friendly smile like we were BFFs, "What are you doing here?!?" "I live in the 'hood! And I didn't expect you to recognize me in street clothes-I was trying to come incognito!" He was super friendly and chatty. It was bizarre because I've never "chatted" with him, like I do with the younger guys and he's just different... my interaction has been limited to the few times I ask him questions in pressers. I don't think he's ever even acknowledged me or said hello, so I was caught off guard. Told him about Wes' contribution etc. He asked when I'd be on Tour next, etc., and all that stuff. Bizarro world.
And now after that friendly interaction, I fully expect to be on nickname status next time I ask him a question at a presser. 🤣🤣🤣 🐯🚽✍️📚👍

  • notdrjMy nickname vote is for Swei. So he can say, "how Swei?!" Or "you ain't got the answers Swei!" A la Kanye.

  • robertstancoOnly an ancient old weinatic like me remembers he said to you, "At least you missed it n the right place." I am senility free. Better not go that far. Better get back to my Beckett's and see where I'm with my granddaughter's college tuition. Quite a busy day for you! Hope you are well.
  • worldbfree70Swei-zee - that would be a very el tigre like nick name. Sounds like a great day.
  • gary.collins.12177Congrats @stephaniemwei. 👏. Great story! Glad to hear you are raising money for a worthy cause. I am sure it will be a great book. Lorne is a wonderful golf writer based in Ontario Canada. I wonder if Tiger will visit The Masters?
  • chapeez310So cool!!
  • stephaniemwei@notdrj John Wood (Kuchar's caddie) calls me Sway!
  • stephaniemwei@gary.collins.12177 I was more excited at the opportunity to see Lorne! Emailed him last week to see if he would be there, but alas, he wasn't. Lorne is the greatest. I see TW all the time! And Lorne not enough!
  • gary.collins.12177@stephaniemwei So glad to know that you are friends with Lorne. I live in the Toronto Area. I am going to the Tuesday practice round at the Masters. I have been to the other majors, 2 Ryder Cups in Wales & Ireland & the Pres. Cup in Montreal. I also went to the Dubai Classic.
