REFUELLING
So after my amazing PowerWave session this morning, I came home and had this bowl of deliciousness and it was so good! 😋👌🏻 Gluten free oats - source of beta-glucans - type of soluble fibre, which slows the absorption of carbohydrates into the bloodstream. This slower digestion prevents dramatic spikes in blood sugar and insulin levels that would otherwise encourage the body to produce and store fat! 👊🏻
Also rich in magnesium. Studies suggest magnesium-rich foods reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes. Also some studies suggests a link between magnesium deficiency and depression! 👊🏻 Chia seeds - can aid heart health. Also a source of calcium - 1 ounce has 18% of your RDA. Rank among the top plant based sources of protein - along with other numerous benefits 👊🏻 Strawberries 🍓 - excellent source of vitamins C and K and provide a good dose of fibre, folic acid, manganese and potassium! 👊🏻 Cinnamon - antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties, may cut the risk of heart disease! But as I said the other day - there are two types Cassia (most common variety) and Ceylon (true cinnamon - and better for you). Just bought so Ceylon - hopefully will try it soon! 👊🏻 Peanut butter - reduces the risk of heart disease and some cancers, protects against Alzheimer's Disease and memory impairment. Full of healthy fat. Lowers the risk of type 2 diabetes. 👊🏻 But like everything - eat these in moderation, make sure you get the right balance! ✌🏻 Anyone else and oat addict?
