Stairs at Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Lagos, Nigeria, the country's largest and busiest airport built in the 1940s. Lagos is one of the continent's major air traffic hubs, and more than 10 million people pass through this airport each year (estimate, Punch Nigeria paper, 2015). For those flying home to one of the country's numerous other cities (or villages), Lagos is usually the required first stop.
