Yesterday, outdoor industry leaders had a call with Governor Herbert (link below). The result of that call is that the Outdoor Retailer trade show is leaving Utah. I'll be honest. I'm incredibly sad to leave Utah. I've been going there for this show for nearly twenty years, tagging alongside my Dad and then striking out on my own and carving out my own role in this community. I have loved going to Utah. I love its mountains and deserts and rivers and all of the adventures I've had in them with my family, friends, and industry colleagues. I have loved being a part of the Salt Lake community and I have loved the kindness and warmth I've always experienced there.
But I am proud of my outdoor industry community for standing up for its values, for leveraging this powerful collective voice and for being true both to the connection we have found in these places and to the places themselves. ✊👏
